This year’s annual youth services workshop will be held from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 30 at the TB Scott Free Library in Merrill.

Attendees will:

-Experience 50+ teen programs that are easy and quick to implement.
-Increase understanding of adverse childhood experiences and the impact on patrons.
-Reflect on summer reading 2023 and brainstorm 2024 ideas.

The workshop will feature presentations by Cathy Pescinski, Teen Librarian at Shawano County Library, and Nancy Baacke, advocate and community educator at HAVEN, Inc.

Cathy will present “Dynamite Dozen: 50 Teen Programs from 12 Simple Items” and Nancy will present a session on ACE, or adverse childhood experiences and their impact on youth and families. Time will be spent reviewing this past year’s summer reading program and brainstorming next year’s program. Attendees will also take a tour of the library. Lunch is included.
