Wisconsin Valley Library Service (WVLS) is seeking a full-time ILS Administrator.  This position reports directly to the WVLS Director and is responsible for:

  • Managing the efficient operation of the WVLS Integrated Library System (ILS), including application performance, administration, maintenance, upgrades and reporting.
  • Providing professional and courteous ILS administrative support, training and services to thirty-six remote public libraries and branches spanning a 7-county area.
  • Ongoing and effective communications with a broad range of people in individual and group settings.

WVLS is a federated public library system located in Wausau, WI, which provides service to 25 public libraries and approximately 200 non-public libraries in its 7-county service area.  For more information about WVLS, visit our website at http://wvls.org.

Qualified candidates are required to have a Masters in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution or comparable educational experience; a minimum of three years progressive experience supporting, managing or troubleshooting ILS applications; and a minimum of two years experience with library cataloging and metadata practices and procedures.  Experience with the Sierra application by Innovative Interfaces, Inc. and experience with structured query language (SQL) are preferred. Candidates must also have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to enthusiastically foster and maintain cooperative and courteous working relationships with WVLS staff members and trustees, member library personnel and trustees, and colleagues throughout the state.  A valid Wisconsin driver’s license and means of transportation are a requirement of employment.

Compensation range for full-time position: $47,000-$65,000.  Salary negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.  Attractive benefits package is provided.
